Bob Brown’s appeal denied

Late yesterday, Bob Brown lost an appeal in Tasmania’s Supreme Court against his conviction for trespassing in public forests while defending Swift Parrot habitat in 2022.

Bob remains defiant and is considering an appeal to the full bench of the Supreme Court.

“How can it be that citizens are criminalised for trying to protect one of the rarest birds left on Earth? The judge’s faulty decision will not deter us from standing strong for the Swift Parrot.”

Swift Parrot

Bob’s appeal was based on the fact that our foundation had notified the Premier and Forestry Tasmania that Swift Parrots were present in the logging area one week before Bob’s arrest.
